About The Programme
Making Work Work is the Challenges Group's award-winning womens employability suite of programmes, co-designed by Lynn Houmdi, Scotland's Flex Influencer 2022.
Our programmes support women in Scotland looking to step back into the workplace after a career break. Your organisation could help us find these women or support them to find work and training opportunities. Your staff might like to mentor them, or to learn more about this unique and skilled pool of talent.
The women we work with are talented, skilled and enthusiastic. Most have management experience or aspirations. They are from across Scotland. Once they have taken part in our peer-led skills refresher programme, they are ready and raring to go into work commensurate with their skills, ambitions and potential.
Boosting work-related skills in management & leadership
Our programmes are designed to equip women with the skills they'll need to return to work in a management or leadership role or progress towards one.

Building confidence in skills & abilities
Working with our facilitators and other participants, women build their confidence and refresh their transferable skills, whether they seek employment or want to start a business.

Expanding networks to support women into work
Through the Making Work Work team and our extensive wraparound support, women build a network of support and opportunities for their future career.
Through partnerships with Business in the Community, Firstport and Smartworks, they can access mentoring, business support and interview coaching.

Making Work Work Alumni
Making Work Work participants go on to work, start their own businesses and volunteer on their own terms. Here are some of their stories.
