Making Work Work – Fair and Flexible Futures for Scottish Mums

In partnership with the Scottish Government, we are excited to launch a national pilot combining Making Work Work, employer engagement and coached pathways into flexible, secure work. 

 

Aligning with the Scottish Government's focus on tackling child poverty, we are aiming to recruit mothers who are looking for work that works around their families.

 

Participants will get: 

  • Employability skills refresh

  • Professional confidence and identity rebuilding

  • Expanded networks 

  • Chartered Management Institute-recognised training plus a CPD certificate 

  • One to one job coaching  

  • Support to maximise income and benefits 

  • A 1-page professional profile

  • A clear plan to return to work  

  • Signposting to local services and support

If you are looking for: 

  • improved skills and confidence to re-enter or progress in employment ​or self-employment 

  • improved or refreshed understanding of positive workplace cultures and good management​ and self-management practice 

  • increased awareness of fair, flexible working and improved confidence to develop their desired (work)life blend 

  • clarity on your next steps into or towards paid employment 

  • improved clarity on how to increase household income through paid work 

  • clear understanding of how to maximise current income (e.g. benefits, switching providers, reducing debt, etc) 

  • improved clarity on how to increase household income through paid work 

And are a mother who falls into one or more of these categories:

  • Lone parent families 

  • Minority ethnic families 

  • Families with a disabled adult or child 

  • Families with a mother aged under 25 

  • Families with a child under one 

  • Larger families (3+ children)
